TRIS recently hosted an exhibition called "The World's Greatest Mela – Respecting India’s Cinematic Heritage" at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. Curated by Neville Tuli, this event showcased a carefully selected collection from an extensive archive of over 400,000 items related to Indian cinema. The displayed items included rare film posters, vintage booklets, original publicity materials, and memorabilia from iconic films associated with TRIS. Noteworthy features of the exhibition were hand-painted posters, vintage booklets, and promotional materials from timeless Indian movies like "Mughal-E-Azam," "Pakeezah," and "Sholay." The event also highlighted significant collaborations in Indian cinema, such as those between Raj Kapoor and Nargis, and Amitabh Bachchan and Manmohan Desai, among others. Additionally, the role of dance in Indian films was explored, showcasing its evolution as a narrative device. The exhibition attracted student groups from various educational institutions who seized the opportunity to delve into the rich history of Indian cinema and its profound influence on the country.
